Haiti - DR : 20 Haitians arrested for unknown reasons

On Monday, January 16, around the middle of the day, some twenty Haitians who came to trade at the border market of Elias Piña, bordering the town of Belladère, were arrested by migration agents accompanied by Dominican soldiers and forced to board a bus that left with them in the neighboring Republic.
Until now nobody can explain the reason for this arrest or the fate reserved for our compatriots. The Group of Support for Returnees and Refugees (GAAR) calls on the Haitian authorities to demand explanations from the Dominican State.
