iciHaiti - Humanitarian : Food for the Poor reports

Since the passage from Hurricane Matthew to today, Food for the Poor has not stopped working. Thanks to donations, in December alone, the organization received 191 containers of food, clothing, seeds and building materials that were distributed across the country.

Thanks to the Sogebank Foundation and E-Power, which contributed $150,000 and $60,000 respectively, Food for the Poor was able, under often difficult conditions, to repair the roofs of school buildings and churches damaged by the passage of Matthew.

From October 4 to the present, 10 sites have been completed and have allowed 6 schools and 4 churches to be re-commissioned.

"Food for the Poor explains that this work cost 146,786.59 broken down as follows :

The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption at Les Cayes $16,342.00;

The Normal School of the Sisters of Charity of St. Louis in Les Cayes $10,459.00;

The Normal School of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception to Charpentier $7,590,60;

The Notre Dame School of Lourdes in Coteaux: $24,757.00;

The National School of Duchity: $20,508.00;

The Professional School of Jérémie: $21,067.00;

The Saint Pierre Church of Previlé to Jérémie: $3,970.00;

The Immaculate Conception Church to the Anglais $17,138.99;

The Notre Dame School of Lourdes in Marfranc $9,198.00;

The Church of Saint Francis Xavier in Moron $15,756.00.

Two other projects are underway. The NGO for an amount of $ 44,554 which should be completed within about 2 weeks, these are :

The The School of Priests in the Anglais $19,797.00;

The Saint Charles School in Moron $24,757.00.

Of the $210,000 initially raised, $191,340.59 was incurred. The remaining $18.659.41 will be allocated to the repair of school buildings that our engineers are evaluating.
