Friday, after Jacmel https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19884-haiti-sports-launch-of-the-2017-inter-school-championship.html Abel Nazaire, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, accompanied by the Deputy of Pétion-ville, Jerry Tardieu, the Secretary of State for Vocational Training, Jean David Genesté and the Departmental Director of West of the ministry, Emmanuel Eliassaint launched in Pétion-ville the inter-school championship.

The ceremony began with the national anthem sung by two pupils of the French College and picked up by the students of the different schools and the officials. Then they marched from Place St Pierre to Parc Ste Thérèse under the eyes of many passers-by : marching ahead, delegations from 20 schools, coaches, instructors, members of the organizing committee, referees, directors of schools etc...

In his remarks, Minister Nazaire expressed his conviction that a strong and responsible youth represents a wealth to contribute to the development of our country.

Tardieu, for his part, applauded the work done by the Ministry and encouraged the practice of sport, which in turn contributed to creating a spirit of solidarity and harmony among young people.
