Haiti - St. Moritz : Haiti at the 2017 World Ski Championships

St. Moritz (Switzerland) is hosting the World Alpine Ski Championships from 6 to 19 February 2017. A total of 600 athletes from 70 countries will compete to win medals and the title of World Champion in 6 disciplines: downhill, slalom Giant, super-G, slalom, super combined and in the Team Event.
3 skiers representing Haiti, participates in these World Championships: Céline Marti, who will participate in the giant slalom, accompanied by her two teammates, Jean-Pierre Roy and Ben Etoc.
Céline Marti was born in Haiti, adopted at a young age by a Swiss couple, did not hesitate a second to answer present when the Franco-Haitian, Jean-Pierre Roy, aka "Rasta Piquett" President of the Haitian Ski Federation (FHS) proposed her to join the team to represent Haiti "It is a pride to be able to represent Haiti, which unfortunately suffers enormously, but it is also a beautiful country and the people has a nner wealth and an exemplary joy of life."
Céline Marti, ski instructor qualified last December for these World Championships "It's complicated, I find myself with young people of 20 years, whereas I, I soon 40 years. But I think I'm young enough in the head and in the body to dare to do it [...]" She will start for the giant slalom Monday, February 13.
