iciHaiti - Security : Meeting on Search & Rescue

On Tuesday, the Haitian Red Cross (HRC) participated in a highly technical meeting on search and rescue in case of air disaster. The meeting was attended by the President of the HRC, accompanied by senior executives of the HRC involved in the thematic of emergency operations, search and rescue and logistical operations of responses to disasters, of key government representatives entities, including the Ministry of Public Health, OFATMA, the Civil Protection Directorate (DPC), alongside those of the National Office of Civil Aviation (OFNAC).

The Haitian Red Cross SAR (Search And Rescue) teams plan to engage in joint activities with OFNAC's SAR to prepare for joint responses in cases of air disasters.

It should be noted that members of SAR Emergency of the HRC, trained for land and altitude rescues by Panamanian and Cuban soldiers for aquatic rescues, can easily complement aeronautical rescue teams.
