The DASH deplores the circulation of photos of the deceased that third and/or close ones would have circulated on the social networks.

"The Directorate of DASH wishes to inform the general public and the relatives of the person concerned in particular that on Friday, 3 March, around 12:10 his Excellency Mr. René Garcia Préval was brought to the DASH Ste-Claire Hospital of Laboule after a discomfort at his residence. The medical team in place was only able to confirm the death on arrival.

The DASH deplores the circulation of photos of the deceased that third and/or close ones would have circulated on the social networks. The medical profession requires the confidential treatment of any patient admitted to a hospital. The DASH Directorate confirms that no photographs in circulation comes from members of its team. All provisions were also made to protect the confidentiality and privacy of former President Préval as well as members of his family.

The DASH Directorate joins the staff of the DASH STE-CLAIRE Hospital in Laboule to present his most sincere sympathies to the family and the relatives."
