iciHaiti - Gang warfare : Deprived of Lycée for a month...
Since 1 month, students of the Lycée Jacques Roumain, in Gran-Ravin, a disadvantaged and overcrowded neighborhood of Martissant, are deprived of school because of armed clashes between two gangs riveaux of Gran-Ravin and Ti Bwa.

The presence of these individuals who wander their weapons in broad daylight and the frequent shots and bursts of automatic automatic weapons, terrorize the residents who are sheltered at home with their children. A gang war that unfolds under the eyes of a passive and impotent police...

Jean Fequière Léonard, the director of the Lycée Jacques Roumain, who in spite of the danger, goes every day to his high school, confirms the situation of insecurity which prevents the students to follow their courses normally. He appeals to the authorities in the hope that they will put an end to these clashes and that calm will return in the neighborhood, to allow the normal resumption of activities both at school and that of small traders in the area...
