Haiti - Education : Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie celebrates its 30 years in Haiti
This year, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) celebrates 30 years of presence and rich collaborations with the academic sector in the Caribbean. Jean-Paul de Gaudemar, Rector of the AUF, will present the AUF's new strategy and its declension in the Caribbean on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Marriott Hotel in Port-au-Prince.

The AUF has adopted a new strategy to better support universities in the francophone world and beyond. This intervention of the AUF will take into account the major stakes of society, by putting the universities at the heart of the economic and social development.

In Haiti, this strategy will focus on the following main thrusts: University Governance, Youth Employment, Administrative Decentralization and the Science and Application Technologies.

With its worldwide network of more than 800 member universities, the AUF is considered as a key player in the development of the university sector in Haiti. Established in Port-au-Prince in 1987, AUF's Caribbean Regional Directorate has been assisting its members in the development of their programs and resources for exactly 30 years. AUF will continue its work in Haiti and the Caribbean by further strengthening academic synergies.
