iciHaiti - Health : Inauguration of Saint-Luc Hospital and of International Training Center

This Thursday, Brian Shukan, the US Chargé d'Affaires in Haiti, will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Saint-Luc Hospital and the International Training Center (ITC) located in Tabarre 39 (next to the St Damien Hospital).

The US Agency for International Development (USAID - Haiti) and ASHA (American Schools and Hospitals Abroad) have provided US $ 500,000 to help build and equip the CIF, which will be at the service of medical professionals of the Mission Medical Saint-Luc and the medical community in Haiti. The training center consists of two classrooms and simulation rooms, a conference room and an administrative meeting room.

The Saint-Luc Foundation offers direct service and medical care to more than 60,000 patients per year. The network provides psychological, advocacy and social services through two hospitals, two maternity clinics and mobile emergency and disaster response units. In addition to emergency care, Hôpital Saint-Luc houses an intensive care unit and a high-level surgery center, equipped with a CT and digital radiography (CT scan and digital x-ray).
