Message from the Consul Condé : "The Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago participates with great pleasure and genuine enthusiasm with Operation SOS in the Celebration of its Twenty-eighth Anniversary. This year, Operation SOS is honoring Mrs. Marie Lucie Voltaire who, besides being an example of a mother, works tirelessly for the benefit of our Community and our compatriots back home. The Chicago Haitian Community truly appreciates the tireless devotion of Mrs. Colette Ascar Jeffries, Dr. Dougé Barthélemy and all their collaborators. This yearly event offers all Haitians in Illinois an opportunity to exhibit their appreciation and solidarity to an organization that has been standing tall with them in all types of circumstances for twenty-eight years. Their solidarity and generosity will, in turn, allow all of us to go on relying on the presence of such a worthwhile organization.
