Friday, the Dominican Civil Defense Director, Brigadier General Rafael Antonio Carrasco Paulino, received in Santo Domingo his new Haitian counterpart, Jerry Chandler, the new Director of the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC), in order to exchange on good practices in the event of disaster between the two countries "Haiti and the Dominican Republic are vulnerable to the same natural phenomena, so it is necessary to create synergies to improve the response to disasters," recalled Carrasco Paulino.

Were also present : Joseph Félix, the intervention coordinator in case of disaster for Haiti civil protection, Enzo di Taranto, head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Haiti, Martín Acosta, National Intervention Counselor disaster for OCHA in the Dominican Republic and Bélgica Miguelina Tactuk, Director of the National School of Risk Management.

At the end of the meeting, Haiti and the Dominican Republic agreed to strengthen risk management.
