iciHaiti - Health : Sectoral table with international donors
Earlier this week Marie Greta Roy Clément, the Minister of Health, gathered around a sectoral table the main donors in the health sector among others : the World Bank, the European Union, USAID, UNICEF, the Embassies of Brazil, Japan, Canada, the French Development Agency (AFD), PAHO / WHO, to ask them to align themselves with the priorities of their Ministry and to coordinate their actions in order to better optimize the financing while avoiding duplication among others.

"Our partnership must therefore be aligned with the objectives set out in the various plans in the course of implementation or in order to enable us to ensure the welfare of the population [...] This sectoral table is therefore a place for the exchange of information, exchanges, debates, organizations and the reorganization of our partnership [...]"

Ivan Robert, the Head of Canadian Cooperation, announced that he had $130 million to fund health projects. Fernando Vidal, the Brazilian ambassador to Haiti, announced $70 million for maintenance of the three hospitals built under the Brazil-Cuba-Haiti tripartite cooperation and also for a project to build a surgical center in the department of Grand'Anse.
