Monday, following the welcoming of a Haitian delegation in Granby, in November 2016 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19201-haiti-canada-municipal-cooperation-program.html where the twinning project was first discussed, the City of Granby (Quebec, Canada) and the Commune of Carrefour in Haiti signed a twinning and cooperation protocol. For the occasion, Mayor Jude Édouard Pierre and Director General Harry Jean from Carrefour were present in Granby.
Michel Pinault, Director General of Granby, very involved in the Canada-Haiti Municipal Cooperation Program, went to Haiti three times to share his knowledge and experience. The mayor of Ganby Pascal Bonin considers that this twinning is the logical continuation of the implication of his city with Haiti.
