iciHaiti - Social : Launch of the network of former Haitian alumni of Belgium
This week in Pétion-ville, in the presence of Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium Patrick Van Gheel and nearly 70 Haitians former students (Alumni) from different universities in Belgium, was launched the "Rezo Préval, Alumni of Belgium" bringing together former Haitian students, as was during his lifetime the former President René Préval who studied at the universities of Gembloux and Leuven in Belgium]

Created by the Belgian Embassy in Haiti, this network aims to foster exchanges between the many former students in Haiti. This first meeting was mainly attended by recent scholars, but could also count on the presence of some older ones. "We hope that your experience in Belgium will allow you not only to develop your country through your involvement in all sectors, but also to be true ambassadors for Belgium in Haiti," said Ambassador Van Gheel.

Recall that the universities in Belgium attract every year students of Haiti (scholarship and not scholarship). The French language used in the south of the country and in Brussels facilitates these exchanges, but the North of Belgium also offers certain academic programs in English.

The Embassy of Belgium encourages all other former Haitians of the universities of Belgium, with or without a scholarship, to join this friendly network.
