iciHaiti - Security : DR strengthens its controls against trafficking of haitians

As part of the fight against human trafficking s from Haiti, the Border Security Corps (CESFRONT) and Dominican Immigration services have strengthened their border controls.
Last week, as part of a joint operation, CESFRONT members and immigration inspectors discovered and arrested 41 Haitians (14 children, 16 women and 11 men) in a residence in Dajabon, they was waiting to be transferred to Santiago and other cities, to beg on the streets on behalf of criminal organizations. During this operation two Dominicans suspected of running a network of trafficking of haitians were arrested.
The Haitian nationals were repatriated to Haiti and the two Dominicans were placed at the disposal of the public prosecutor.
