Monday following the sinking of their boat, 6 Haitian men were rescued 25 miles southwest of Provo (Turks and Caicos Islands) by a United States Coast Guard helicopter (Clearwater). According to the Coast Guard report, the 6 Haitians left Provo around 3 p.m. before sinking a little later...

Haitians said they bought the boat in the Turks and Caicos Islands and were traveling to Haiti when the wind became too strong for the sail of their boat, which capsized before sinking.

They were led by Coast Guard officials to the Immigration Service for the treatment of their case.
