iciHaiti - Agriculture : Poor performance of the agricultural sector
The Economic Indicator of Economic Activity (ICAE) of the agricultural sector of the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHSI) in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017 (January-March 2017) suffered a decline of -4.3%, less pronounced than the previous quarter (-6.5%).
The agricultural sector continues to suffer from the effects of Hurricane Matthew on the productive capacity of affected areas.
Year-to-year, the cumulative annual change in the first two quarters of the agricultural sector indicator (October to March 2017) stands at -5.1%.
