iciHaiti - Diaspora : 100 Years of Lions Club International

At that centennial celebration of the Lions Club International in Chicago, attended by a delegation from Haiti, Lesly Condé, the Consul General of Haiti in Chicago has issued a message that we invite you to share :

Message from the Consul Condé :

"I am delighted and extremely proud to be here to participate in some of the Centennial celebrations of the Lions Club. It is a precious opportunity for me to see familiar faces of compatriots whom I have always admired and respected. It is also incumbent on me to welcome you all to the beautiful city of Jean-Baptiste Pointe DuSable.

I must first thank Dr. Ludovic Comeau who kindly invited me to be in your prestigious company, to participate in this beautiful gathering and to rub shoulders with Mr. William Éliacin who has for more than 30 years headed the Haiti section of the Lions Club. It is with immeasurable pride that I can allude to the fact that we are both from the same region.

The Lions Club is now 100 years old. This means that for 100 years it has been working for many people and, of course, many compatriots. I know you are all proud to be a member of the Lions Club. Personally, I am very impressed by the nobility and the altruism that its vocation emanates. There are centenarians who deserve to be celebrated, this one is one and believe me when I tell you that I am very happy to be among you.

It remains for me to welcome you once again, and to thank you for having welcomed me so warmly among you. In the Haiti section of the prestigious Lions Club, I wish for continued success.

Thank you.

Lesly Condé, Consul General of Haiti"
