Last weekend, Colombe Emilie Jessy Menos, Minister of Tourism, accompanied by Micalerme Pierre, Deputy of the Commune of Anse-à-Galets and President of the Tourism and Creative Industries Commission and all local elected representatives went at the West Point in order to launch and take part in the first edition of the Festival of the Gonâve.

The Festival of the Gonâve was an opportunity to raise awareness of the cause of Tourism as a driver of economic development. Whether it is the street vendors, the informal or the conventional operators, all participate as actors of tourism and development.

The Minister of Tourism is convinced that the island of La Gonâve is conducive to the practice and development of water sports and recreation.

Minister Menos took the opportunity to discuss with the elected officials possible and/or necessary adjustments in order to attract more tourists to the island of La Gonâve, on the one hand and initiate the development of the island. She announced the forthcoming launch of a series of studies to lead to the tourist development of the island of Gonâve.
