During the celebration of the patronal feast of Saint Dominic in Marigot, Stéphanie Auguste, the Minister of Haitians living abroad, alongside Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant, participated in the inauguration of the arch built at the entry of the commune of Marigot.

This arch was funded by the Patriotic Association for the Development of Marigot (APDM), an organization regrouping Haitians originally from Marigot residing in France and North America.

Prime Minister Lafontant, who congratulated the members of the APDM for this initiative, took the opportunity to recall that the Government was working to ensure that the security conditions and services offered in public institutions promote return or links with much more compatriots from outside.

Minister Auguste insisted on the efforts of her Ministry to ensure that members of the diaspora who wish to help the development of their community of origin do not act in isolation but register their actions within the framework of the development plans of the communes.

Darson Sudzer Penn, President of the APDM, resident in Boston, moved by the interest of the Prime Minister and the Minister said he expected from the MHAVE all the support that could help his Association better serve the commune of Marigot.
