iciHaiti - Social : Arrival in Haiti of the world's largest floating bookshop
The "Logos Hope", the world's largest floating bookshop, arrives in Haiti and will be moored at the Public Quay, APN in Port-au-Prince, from Friday, August 11 to Sunday, August 27. The ship's onboard library offers a selection of over 5,000 different titles at affordable prices that cover a range of topics including science, sports, hobbies, cookery books, medicine and languages. Also with children's books, university books, dictionaries and much more...

The rest of the tour is offered to the public to explore the reception area or an introductory video will be broadcast. The Logos Hope also has a theater on board with more than 400 seats and offers plays, cultural events and conferences.

There are 400 volunteers on the ship coming from over 60 nations. The crew offers a unique example of unity in cultural diversity. Some have qualifications for specific roles such as engineers, plumbers, carpenters, cooks and other professionals, but many young people have no qualifications that will serve. Although they have a different background, crew members agree on a common goal: to serve people through social service projects and good literature.

MV Logos Hope is operated by GBA Shipse.V., an international charity registered in Germany. Since 1970, the organization has welcomed over 45 million visitors on its bridges in more than 150 countries and territories around the world.

MV Logos Hope will be open at the Public Wharf, Port-au-Prince APN, from August 11 to August 27. The opening hours are: Tuesday - Saturday: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm; Closed on Mondays. The entrance fee is 25 Gourdes per person. Children 12 and under enter free of charge and must be accompanied by an adult. Adults aged 65 and over enter for free.
