iciHaiti - Agriculture : New Donation of Bio-enriched seeds of Panama

Under the "Panama Coopera 2030" program, the Government of the Republic of Panama, through its Embassy in Haiti, made a second seed donation after that of last June https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21380-haiti-panama-donation-of-rice-and-maize-seeds.html and delivered several kilograms of bio-enriched corn and rice seeds to the Ministry of Agriculture to support the revival of Haitian agriculture through agronomic improvement, particularly in the affected departments in the south of the country.

Carmel André Belliard, the Haitian Minister of Agriculture, and experts from his team specializing in seeds, received from Panama's Ambassador Xiomara Pérez and the Representative of the Agricultural Research Institute of Panama (IDIAP), Prospero Aguirre, the seed bags, results of IDIAP research.

Minister Belliard was grateful for Panama's seed donations, noting that, with the improvement of existing varieties, Panama is supporting Haiti in improving the quantity and quality of its agricultural production, managing pest control and food security through enhanced agricultural production.
