iciHaiti - Malaria : Nets Distribution Campaign

Friday in the Place d’armes of Les Cayes, Marie Greta Roy Clement, the Minister of Public Health officially launched a campaign to fight malaria and a first free distribution of long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets in the department of the South, around the theme "Zéro malaria pou Ayiti an 2020".

More than 400,000 mosquito nets will be distributed in the region as part of the campaign, which will include free access to care and community outreach.

According to Minister Clément, the use of mosquito nets daily and the elimination of standing water environment conducive to mosquitoes are two effective ways to fight against certain diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, including dengue, chikungunya, filariasis and malaria.
