Monday, during the weekly press conferences, Meniol Jeune, the Director General of the Ministry of National Education intervened on few provisions taken as part of the new school year.

"The school calendar, is already distributing for a good school year. 41,850 uniforms are available for children with 36,000 school kits. The school contribution fee is set at 1,000 Gourdes in public schools. The students of the 1st cycle will not pay anything as school fees," announced Meniol Jeune, adding "The opening of several schools are planned this week, including 32 funded by the IDB and 58 by the Treasury..."

He also announced that in order to improve the learning of foreign languages in Haiti, pupils of the 9th Fundamental Year will necessarily undergo the English and Spanish exams.
