On Wednesday, as part of the Government's preparations for the passage of the Category 5 Hurricane IRMA, Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant and Hervé Denis Minister of Defense, accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry, Colonel Louis Marcelin Daniel visited the Léogâne base.

The Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense have in turn addressed the technical soldiers, members of the Military Engineering Corps, who will be deployed on the ground. The latter have been instructed by the competent authorities to ensure the protection of the civilian population, in general and the most vulnerable in particular.
