iciHaiti - Politics : Haitian lawyers' league condemns the budget vote
In a statement the Haitian lawyers' league for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights (LJHPDDH), "strongly condemns the vote of the budget by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. By this act, the Haitian parliamentarians chose not to defend the interests of the Nation. Article 109 of the 1987 Constitution amended, makes the parliamentarian a guarantor of the maintenance and protection of the rights of the Haitian people."
The league asks the Head of State not to publish this budget which it considers "unconstitutional under articles 135.1 and 136 of the Constitution and which will aggravate the humanitarian and security situation of the population."
