Haiti - Mexico : Suzy Castor receives the «Ohtli» Prize 18/09/2017 09:19:34
Suzy Castor, the well-known Haitian human rights activist, Director and Co-Founder of the Center for Economic and Social Research and Training for Development (CRESFED), received the "Ohtli" Prize for her 40 years of work, that have contributed to the rapprochement of Mexico with the Caribbean and in particular with Haiti. The Mexican Embassy in Haiti honored Suzy Castor with the "Ohtli" Prize created by the Institute of Mexicansabroad, to reward Mexican, Latino or their foreign-born descendants who have worked for many years to the benefit of development of communities of Mexican origin in other countries. Learn more : The word Ohtli means "way", in Nahuatl (a group of languages of the Uto-Aztec family). CRESFED is an organization that supports various groups of human rights defenders in Haiti.
