iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : Reopening of judicial work

Monday, the judicial work was reopened in Petit-Goâve for the2017-2018 fiscal year. In his speech, Me Emmanuel Tataille, the Dean of the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Petit-Goâve, argued in favor of the independence of the judiciary and the equitable remuneration of the judges. Me Alcide Laguerre, the president of the Bar Council of Petit-Goâve, intends to fight corruption in its forms "Any lawyer of the bar suspected of involvement in acts of corruption will be punished."
Later he says to be urprised by the complicit silence of the population who said nothing or did not react to the judges' strike. Me Laguerre thinks it is extremely serious that the country works without the "justice for more than 3 weeks and that we have all remained indifferent face such a phenomenon."
