iciHaiti - Humanitarian : 5 new NGOs authorized in the country

Aviol Fleurant, the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, issued joint communiqués granting the status of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for development assistance to 5 institutions operating in the fields of education, health, agriculture and social assistance in the departments of West, Artibonite, North and North-East.
In his speech, he said that his Ministry wanted to better coordinate the actions of the development partners on the ground in order better channel assistance to the needy populations and recalled that the objectives pursued by these NGOs must tend towards development and that their actions complement those of the government through the services offered to the populations of the selected zones, within a multi-sectoral framework. Minister Fleurant also invited these NGOs to learn more about the modalities of operation in Haiti and especially the obligations vis-à-vis the Haitian State (reports on the execution of programs and projects at the end of each fiscal year, and handing over their planned investment program and budget for the next fiscal year) like the other 250 authorized NGOs in Haiti.
