In accordance with the resolution of the Council of the University of Haiti (UEH) dated 5 August 2017, the Executive Council of UEH set up the Steering Committee of the States General of the institution whose members were installed Thursday, October 12. At the end of this investiture, the Steering Committee held its first working session.

Members of the Committee :

Ronald Jean-Jacques, Professor in the Faculty of Human Sciences and former member of the Reform Commission of UEH;

Mrs Nirvah Jean-Jacques, Professor in the Faculty of Applied Linguistics (FLA) and former member of the preparation committee of the UEH General Assembly;

Dr. Vladimir Larsen, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (FMP) and Director of Training at the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP);

Carolle Charles, Professor at the City University of New York (CUNY), former President of the Haitian Studies Association;

Laennec Hurbon, President of the Scientific Committee of the Haitian Doctoral College.

Mission of the Committee :

To develop the strategy of generalization and dynamization of the participation of the various categories of concerned with the support of the media of the country;

Establish the timetable for the achievement of the States General;

Establish the master list of institutions and organizations that are called to serve as places of animation, antennae or relays to the debates of sensitization preparatory to the assizes;

Coordinate the production of working papers to serve as a theoretical basis and structuring of debates around the themes of the preparatory workshops and forum;

Collect the proposals of the preparatory workshops which will feed the reflection during the sessions of the assises properly;

Present the report of the meeting and the resulting action plan for validation and dissemination for the reform of the UEH.
