Thursday, the US Government gave the Haitian Aid to the Blind Society (SHAA) a batch of educational materials for schools for the blind, worth $15,000. This donation is part of the Reading for All Inclusive Education Promotion Project (RAPID), which supports the schooling of people with disabilities.

Robin Dialo, the US Chargé d'Affaires, said the donation is one of his country's actions in favor of inclusive education. She said that she wished to end the exclusion of children with disabilities in the education system.

Michel Pean, National Coordinator of the SHAA, lamented that 92% of children with disabilities are out of school and called for the strengthening of school capacity and infrastructure in terms of accessibility and adaptation to people with special needs. He also recommended the implementation of training programs adapted to instructors.
