Reacting to this appointment Pierre Espérance, the Executive Director of the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH), deplores the fact that the human rights sector has been excluded in the selection process. He seriously doubts Renan Hedouvil's ability to protect citizens against the abuse of power, recalling "He is close to Tèt Kale, he was with Michel Martelly for five years and he was President of the Superior Council of Wages which had submitted to the will of the executive in the increase of the minimum wage..."
