This week in Turkey, the President of the National Society of the Haitian Red Cross, Dr. Guiteau Jean-Pierre, has been elected to the Governing Council of the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) for the America Zone, at the General Assembly of the Federation which also elected a new President at the head of the Federation : the Italian Francesco Rocca.

The election of the President of the Haitian Red Cross (CRH), as a member for the America zone, comes to consecrate the victory of the CRH which makes its entry on the Board of Management of the Federation with 118 votes. The International Federation, the largest humanitarian network in the world, currently has 190 national member societies. 20 National Societies are part of the Governing Council.

Double blow for Haiti : Elysée Pierre, the National Coordinator of the Red Cross Youth was appointed Tuesday to the Youth Commission of the Federation.
