Maguy Durce the Director General of the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP) who represented the Minister of National Education at the assizes of the Francophone Initiative for Distance Education of Teachers (IFADEM) recently held in Dakar (Senegal), called for national coverage of IFADEM and invited for an opening to non-linguistic disciplines and the deployment of digital points with a view to wider and free access for teachers.

According to her, this extension of digital tools would allow teachers to self-train and have at their disposal adequate computer equipment. An extension that also aims at the efficiency and the rationalization of the costs of travel expenses, accommodation and stay, as well as the creation of a proximity between the teachers and the schools.

She also wanted an extension of IFADEM taking into account the other school sub-systems, of the supervisory staff of all school education, such as coordinators, educational advisors and inspectors.

In conclusion, Durcé expressed the commitment of the Ministry of National Education to include the IFADEM program in the national teacher training policy and in various ongoing international projects aimed at strengthening and improving the quality of teaching in Haiti.
