iciHaiti - FLASH : Haiti's airspace is potentially dangerous

The airspace of Haiti is not controlled, in the absence of a radar surveillance system of the territory. As a result, no one knows who is crossing the airspace of the country, and for the sake of security, international airlines are limited to landings and take-offs and avoid flying over the country because of the danger of lack of air traffic information.

Last week Jovenel Moïse deplored the fact that for 20 years Haitian airspace has not been controlled giving a score of 5 out of 100 to the security of the international airport Toussaint Louverture. He mentioned the acquisition under his government of a $12 million high-technology radar system that would cover the entire country without mentioning any delay to this promise or bidding for the purchase of this radar...
