Friday afternoon took place the ceremony of laying the first of the future Faculty of Sciences (FDS) of the State University (UEH) destroyed during the earthquake of January 12, 2010.

The new FDS, will be rebuilt in compliance with anti seismic standards, universal accessibility and protection of the environment. This modern, fully equipped building is funded by the Qatar Haiti Fund and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The Housing and Public Buildings Construction Unit (UCLBP) will be the Project Owner and J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J / P HRO) will be the Project Manager.

In his speech, Qatar's Ambassador to the United States, Sheikh Meshal Bin Hamad Al-Thani, said that today "Haitians are stronger and more resilient than ever. As a leader in international education, Qatar is committed to empowering young Haitians to create a better and brighter future."
