The Ministry of Education has learned with dismay of the death of Brother Hubert Le Deit, who passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the age of 86.

"The MENFP expresses its sympathies to the relatives and friends affected by this mourning, especially to the great family of the Brothers of Christian Instruction (FIC).

The Ministry encourages Haitian educators to draw inspiration from the dedication and commitment of Brother Hubert, an emeritus educator who has worked with passion for the recovery of the Haitian school, particularly within the Federation of Catholic Private Schools. (FECAP) and invites all those who knew him and whom he had served, to perpetuate his memory."

A career educator who has dedicated 57 years of his life to education in Haiti, Brother Le Deit has trained several generations of children and young people under his proven leadership, notably through the Institution Saint-Louis de Gonzague. He also contributed to the reflection work at various workshops that led to the development of several documents of importance to the Haitian education sector. Honored by the Ministry as a personality of education a few years ago.
