iciHaiti - Politic : President Moïse in solidarity with the victims of the Iron Market
Tuesday afternoon, President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied by Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant and members of the Government, paid a solidarity visit to merchants who were victims of the Port-au-Prince Iron Market fire https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23556-haiti-flash-the-iron-market-ravaged-by-a-fire.html

Moïse wanted to inquire personally about the extent of the damage and announced the creation of an interministerial commission that will quickly inventory the number of merchants victims to ensure their support. Instructions were issued to the Prime Minister for the provision of a monthly allowance to the victims through the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and the Social Welfare Fund, pending more concrete steps to obtaining loans at preferential rates to the victims.

The Head of State assured that all the provisions have already been adopted by the judicial and police authorities to discover the causes of the fire, and indicated that steps have already been initiated to achieve the rehabilitation of this market.
