The weapons stolen May 10 in Barrettes (Petit-Goâve) to police and citizens were recovered Monday, May 14 confirmed the deputy peace judge of Vialet, Me Vernevil Délicio at the microphone of Radio Préférence.

"2 pistols of 9mm caliber (property of the PNH), 2 revolvers of caliber 38, another weapon, and a pair of handcuffs," were found in a bag deposited not far from the residence of the coordinator of the CASEC of the first communal section of Petit-Goâve.

Explaining "Last week, during the situation of tensions that prevailed in Barrettes on the RN2 following the death of the young agronomist, Petit Poulard https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24339-haiti-flash-demonstration-repressed-by-the-cimo-1-dead-and-2-wounded-by-bullets.html ill-intentioned individuals took the opportunity to disarm police officers and citizens [...] I advised the coordinator of the CASEC of the first communal section, Wilnor Délicieux, to convey this message at the local level: those who had confiscated the weapons have until Monday, May 14 to deposit them either at the sub-station of Vialet or in the office of the CASEC."

Me Vernevil Délicio specified that the file on weapons stolen then recovered will be transmitted to the Procuratorate of Petit-Goâve for the necessary suites as for the weapons they will be handed to the inspector Rotchild Augustin, head of the sub-police station of Vialet.

Délicio concluded by asking any police officer who had been victim of the last events of Barrettes to come to complain to the court of vialet.

Note that no arrests were made following these events.
