iciHaiti - Religion : Election of the new bishop coadjutor of the diocese of Haiti 05/06/2018 10:10:57
The election took place at the nursing school of the Episcopal University of Haiti in Léogâne. Pending the canonically required consent of a majority of the church’s bishops with jurisdiction and its diocesan standing committees, Delicat will succeed Bishop Jean Zaché Duracin, who is retiring after serving as bishop since 1994. The ordination and consecration is set for January 5, 2019. This election comes a little over a year after Bishop Jean Zaché Duracin, Bishop President, Mgr. Michael Curry, Suffragan Bishop, Bishop Ogé Beauvoir, Executive Director of the NGO "Food For The Poor" and the Diocesan Standing Committee have concluded a pact that " to address and resolve many of the issues of conflict that have been burdening the diocese."
