iciHaiti - Politic : France alongside the Haitian media

Organized at the Satama Hotel in Cap Haitien, during an opening seminar, the "Info Toupatou" program implemented by the French Agency for Media Development (CFI) was launched with the support of the the French Institute in Haiti (IFH) and Julien Musseau, audiovisual mission manager of the IFH.

This seminar brought together the heads of local radios broadcasting all over the country to promote the opening up of the "country outside" in the field of information processing. This seminar will continue with a training session led by French and Haitian trainers, which will address notions as diverse as the choice of content, their treatment, editorial management or the ethics and social responsibility of the media.

Ultimately "Info Toupatou" also provides for the implementation of actions in three complementary areas: improving the governance and economic viability of local radio; strengthening local capacity for continuous training and support for the role of the media in citizen control of public action.

The French Agency for Media Development (CFI) is the Cooperation Agency of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, in charge of coordinating and animating the French policy of development aid for media in the South. CFI assists media players (TV, radio, print media, online media), both public and private, to strengthen modernization and democratization processes
