Thursday back home after attending the 39th Ordinary Meeting of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in Montego Bay, Jamaica, President Moïse said at a press conference he met on the sidelines of this event the new President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz Canel around the expertise that Cuba will bring to Haiti in hydraulic engineering, recalling "There are 15 Cuban technicians working in the construction of the dam [micro-hydroelectric plant] on the Marion River https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24264-haiti-politic-official-inauguration-of-dam-works-on-the-marion-river.html I asked the Cuban President to send 30 more engineers to help us build several more dams in the country."

In addition, Moïse asked the Cuban President to allow Haiti to send young graduates to do a master's degree in hydraulics in Cuba. Positively welcomed by the Cuban President who left the choice of the number of young people for these studies "There are young graduates in rural engineering who will be trained in Marion. We will select some of them and grant them scholarships" said the head of state, stressing that these young people on their return, will help in the construction and management of micro-hydroelectric plants.
