Pierre Simon Georges, the resigning Minister of the Environment expressed concern about the problems of deterioration of the security of the living environment of citizens because of "the uncontrolled proliferation of petrol stations and micro centers of natural gas liquefied."

This uncontrolled proliferation in the capital and in other cities of the country challenges the responsibilities of the Ministry in terms of the environmental impacts of the petroleum sector in Haiti and to this end, Minister Georges set up a Ministerial Commission called "Commission of Reflections / Actions, on the uncontrolled proliferation of gas stations in the country.

This Commission will have to produce a report and recommendations for a better regulation of the petroleum marketing, report which will be transmitted to the organs of the territorial collectivities for the appropriate following.
