iciHaiti - Politic : The absence of a new Government, dangerous for the stability...

The lack of measures to improve the living conditions of the majority since the riots of July 6 to 8 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-25055-haiti-flash-heavy-balance-of-riots.html , followed by the resignation on July 14 of the Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24957-haiti-flash-resignation-of-the-prime-minister-lafontant.html and the absence of the setting up a new ministerial team, exasperates Gary Bodeau, the Speaker of the Lower House. In a letter to President Moïse, he expresses his frustration and impatience and warns the Head of State against the dangers of this delay, suggesting that he accelerate the process...

Letter from Gary Bodeau :

"[...]

Mr. President,

Since the deplorable events of July 6, 7 and 8, 2018, the Haitian Nation, in all its components, expects striking measures of recovery in the direction of improving the living conditions of the greatest number.

Such measures, which would be able to appease frustrations and satisfy the legitimate demands of the people, are not the prerogative of a resigning government, constrained to the routine of the liquidation of current affairs, while the back-to-school come at full speed.

Any delay in the establishment of a new government team can only result in a deepening of frustrations and the exacerbation of social and political acrimonies, dangerous for the stability. The entire national community languished for three (3) weeks in the anxious expectation of the outcome of this crisis that has lasted too long.

Three weeks is already too much: the wait has reached the limits of patience. Also, as President of the Chamber of Deputies, Co-Depositary of National Sovereignty, Mr. President, would I like to patriotically suggest that you accelerate the process of appointing a Prime Minister and setting up a government to regenerate hope and bring serenity and lasting peace to our streets."
