Born in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada) on October 25, 1996 from Haitian parents, Cantave was a member of the U-17 Canadian team for which he played in the playoffs and finals of the 2013 FIFA World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. In the championship of the Concacaf U-17 he played against Jamaica (4-2), Panama (1-2) and Honduras (2-2, 4-2 shooting on goal).
