A third group of Haitians in Chile, enrolled in the voluntary return program, is ready to take the next flight to Haiti, scheduled for Monday, December 17. The Boeing 767 of the Chilean Air Force is expected to take off around 10:00 am. Estimate Santius (30), one of the Haitians who will fly on Monday, said he was "very happy" to return to the country to see his family and his two children waiting for him while regretting that he did not find any working in Chile and having to live on the street for almost two months...

Recall that Haitians in Chile, who wish to return to Haiti at the expense of the Chilean Government, can register since 17 October 2018 on the website of the Department of Immigration : https://tramites.extranjeria.gob.cl/etapas/ejecutar/2984

To qualify for this program, Haitians must not have a legal situation in progress and they must sign a notarized declaration in which they undertake not to return to Chile in the next 9 years. If migrants have a spouse, partner or children, they must complete the process jointly and travel in groups.

Note that Chile is one of the countries that rejected the UN Global Compact for safe, orderly and regular migration.
