iciHaiti - Bahamas : 4th boat of illegal Haitian migrants intercepted in 7 days

After the interception on New Year's Day of a boat of 16 Haitian migrants in South Beach https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26565-haiti-bahamas-16-haitian-boat-people-intercepted-east-of-south-beach.html , of another on December 30 with 124 illegal Haitian migrants (107 men and 17 women) about 20 kilometers south of New Providence and a third intercepted at Abaco with 54 Haitians aboard the previous Thursday a 4th boat of boat people fleeing Haiti was intercepted Saturday morning, January 5, 2019.

Air, land and naval operations of the Royal Bahamas Defense Force in the zones south of New Providence and Exuma led to the arrest of the Haitian ship shortly after 8 am.

Under the custody of the defense forces, the boat was escorted to the base of Coral Harbor where the migrants were handed over to the immigration authorities for further investigation. The number of migrants on board has not been communicated.
