iciHaiti - Humanitarian : US to consider emergency food aid in Haiti

Following the serious socio-political crisis and almost total paralysis of activities in Haiti for nearly two weeks, the US Government announces that it is considering a plan to provide humanitarian food aid in Haiti, within the framework of the lowering of the cost of living, one of the demands of the Haitian population.
According to a spokesman for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) this emergency food assistance will meet the needs of the population taking into account the current context, stating that assessments will be made to ensure the appropriate implementation of the intervention, concluding "[...] the US Government remains committed to the Haitian population and to meeting the food security needs of those most affected [...]"
