iciHaiti - RD : Rapprochement between UEH and UASD
On Friday, the Rector of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), Emma Polanco Melo, received a courtesy visit from her Haitian counterpart, Fritz Deshommes, of the State University of Haiti (UEH) with which she discussed topics of common interest for both higher education centers. This meeting was attended by Ariosto Rojas, Director of UASD's Department of Donbations and Sponsorships, and Professor Luesmil Castor of the School of Social Communication of the Faculty of Human Sciences.

Polanco Melo announced that she would set up a commission to conduct a survey to identify the most relevant topics on which academic exchanges will be articulated to contribute to knowledge creation.

In addition, Ariosto Rojas and Luesmil Castor agreed on the need to create a Chair of Caribbean Studies and Comparative Literature as part of the exchange between the two universities.

At the end of his visit, Rector Deshommes said he was satisfied with his visit and thanked the UASD for the support it has always given to Haitian nationals.
