The Directorate General of Migration (DGM), reports that migration control operations were carried out during the last 10 days, in several Dominican provinces : Azua, Espaillat, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Montecristi, Santiago de los Caballeros, Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde, as well as different sectors of the national district and the municipalities of Santo Domingo East, North and West, during which 2,910 Haitians were controlled.

The migration teams were composed of inspectors, agents of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) with the support of the military, the National Police in coordination with the Public Ministry of the Provinces concerned.

After verification using biometric readers and consultation with the DGM database, 1,946 Haitians (66.8%) were declared in irregular migration situation and led during this period, at the border posts of Dajabón and Elías Piña, to be registered and deported to Haiti
